Welcome to The Greenhouse Cakerie.

My name is Laura Swallow and I specialise in designing and creating bespoke and contemporary cakes for weddings, celebrations and special occasions. My vision is always to create something that is unique to you, tastes as good as it looks and ultimately forms the centre piece for your special event or occasion.

All of my cakes are handcrafted using fresh, quality ingredients and my menu offers a variety of delicious flavours, from traditional vanilla or chocolate, to caramel, red velvet and carrot cake.

The Greenhouse Cakerie is based in Northamptonshire and supplies cakes throughout the neighbouring counties and further afield on request.

Meet Laura

I have always enjoyed baking from a young age with my mother (also an excellent home baker, taught by her own mother!) and we often made cakes together at the weekends. Like many bakers, I found a passion for cake decorating and sugar craft after my children were born, fulfilling their requests for weird and wonderful birthday cakes!

Having worked in the finance industry for 14 years, I was given the opportunity to take a different direction with my career, and with a little encouragement from my family, The Greenhouse Cakerie was born in 2018. Now specialising in beautiful, luxury wedding cakes, I have an eye for detail and am a perfectionist through and through. I pride myself on producing elegant cakes that really stand out from the crowd.

Although the majority of my knowledge and experience is self-taught, I have also attended courses with local tutors. I love to learn, and I’m always looking to keep my skill set fresh and in touch with the latest trends and techniques.

The Greenhouse Cakerie is registered with Northamptonshire Local Authority and has received a 5* rating from Environmental Health. I have a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate and I am fully insured.
